Cancelation Rights

When you sign a home improvement contract in your home and in the presence of a contractor or a contractors representative, you have three days in which to cancel the contract. The contractor is required to tell you about your cancellation rights and to provide you with any required cancellation forms. If you cancel, it is recommended that you send the cancellation notice by certified mail, return receipt requested, which requires a signature of a company employee for receipt that verifies when the document was received.
